Actor Dhanush is all set to star in a new film directed by popular filmmaker K V Anand of "Maatran" fame.
It was reported earlier that Anand would do a film with superstar Rajinikanth post "Kochadaiyaan" but, it seems the director has chosen Rajini's son-in-law for his next project.
Confirming the news, Dhanush tweeted, "Yes guys...much 2 d delight of u all and myself iam doing a film with k v anand sir.the technicians are yet 2 b finalised.shoot 4m august."
Anand's last release, "Maatran" did decent business at the box office. However, the cinematographer-cum-director is one of the most-sought-after filmmakers in the Tamil film industry.
It seems Anand is busy finalizing the storline for his new film. Details about the supporting cast are yet to be revealed.
On the other hand, Dhanush has his hands full with multiple projects. Two of his films will be hitting the theatres in the first half of the year. He is making his Bollywood debut with "Raanjhanaa" alongside Sonam Kapoor.
"Raanjhanaa" is a love story set in the backdrop of Banares and is scheduled for release on 21 June. Tweeting about the film, Dhanush said, "Finished first half dubbing for raanjhanaa. So happy with the film and the fact that I ve managed to Dubb. Come on!! bring it on 2 nd half."
Dhanush will have two Tamil releases this year. His "Mariyaan" directed by Bharatbala might have a June release, though there is no official word on it. The actor is also simultaneously working on "Naiyaandi", directed by Sarkunam.
