Two upcoming movies - "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" - are set to have a box office clash on 18 December, marking a face-off between two popular young stars - Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh - for the first time.
Although the clash of the two flicks has been mostly seen as a face-off between Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, there is another dimension to it.
"The clash of titans this December means Ranveer and Varun would find themselves in the ring as well. It would be interesting to see how they acknowledge each other, once the promotional onslaught gets into the next gear in weeks to come," DNA quoted a trade expert as saying.
Both Varun and Ranveer made a promising debut in the industry and rose to fame in a quick span of time.
While Varun's last movie "ABCD 2" was a box office hit, Ranveer's "Dil Dhadakne Do" also had a successful commercial run.
"Not only are both Ranveer ad Varun in great demand, they are also liked immensely by one and all. The best part about them is that other than being really talented, they are also humble and attached to their roots. It is sad that both of them would have to clash with each other in a commercial zone," the trade expert said.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie "Dilwale" features Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, and on the other side, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
