Isuzu Motor India is gearing up for the launch of new SUV MU-X in India on May 11. A lot has already been talked about MU-X and the model has made its way to the internet countless times through spy shots and leaked reports.
Now, more details of Isuzu MU-X have been leaked online, this time around giving a sneak peek at the brochure of the model, which is just a couple of days ahead of its launch in the country. In India, Isuzu MU-X will come powered by a 3.0-litre, four-cylinder, VGS turbo diesel engine that can churn out 174bhp of power and 380Nm of torque at 1,800-2,800rpm.
The transmission in the SUV will be taken care of by five-speed sequential shift automatic gearbox. The India-spec Isuzu MU-X will offer 4x4 formats, while it claims to deliver a fuel efficiency of 13.8kmpl.
Isuzu MU-X, the SUV based on the same platform as V-Cross and D-Max, will replace MU-7 as it has done in most of the international markets. MU-X will come loaded with features such as 7-inch infotainment system with 8 speakers, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, roof mounted 10-inch DVD entertainment monitor and cruise control.
The safety in the SUV will be taken care of by anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system (TCS), hill start assist (HSA), dual front airbags and pre-tensioners.
To be offered in four colour options - Silky White Pearl, Orchid Brown Mica, Cosmic Black Mica and Titanium Silver Metallic, the MU-X will flaunt new grille and projector headlamp and wrap-around rear windshield.
The SUV measures 4,825mm length, 1,860mm in width, 1,840mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,845mm. In India, Mu-X will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
