Now this is something that will please fans of actor Barun Sobti. Television's heartthrob Barun, who shot to fame with "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon," will soon be back on the small screen.
Barun will make his comeback on television as a lead in an upcoming untitled show, which will air on Zee TV. BBC will launch a thriller based finite series on Zee TV with Barun in the lead, Tellychakkar.com reports.
The thriller will revolve around a cop and a con woman. Barun will play the role of a cop, but for the female lead, the makers have not finalised anyone yet, the entertainment portal reported. If reports are to be believed, a newcomer will play the role of the con woman.
Last year, there were reports of Barun doing a finite series, but nothing was finalised then. "There is a plan to do a finite series, but nothing is confirmed as of now. It's in a very early stage. Nothing is locked. Hopefully in a month, I should have some clarity," Barun told Hindustan Times Sep. 15, 2015.
There were also reports that the actor would do "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" follow up with Sanaya Irani. The new show would be a finite series of just 25 to 30 episodes.
"The makers of 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' are recreating the magical Season 1 again on the same channel: Star Plus. The show will feature Sanaya and Barun in the lead as Arnav and Khushi, and bring a continual sequence to the first season having the same team on board. Though, it will be a finite series of 25-30 episodes, and will mostly roll out by next month i.e. March," a source told India Forums in February this year.
But looks like this time fans will see him in a different avatar and on a different channel.
Meanwhile, the "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" actor made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with "Main Aur Mr Right," but he failed to make a mark. The film bombed at the box office and the actor has been missing from the silver screen since.
