An investigative report has found that between 1 March 4 and 31 August this year, at least 80 personnel working for the London's Metropolitan Police have travelled to Israel for a 'tactics and strategy' training.

The report noted that the visit by the London Metropolitan Police staff coincidentally took place during the Operation Protective Edge carried out by the Israeli army in Gaza. During the crisis that went for weeks, it was reported that at least 2,000 Palestinians were killed.

A report in the Global Research suggested that the London police was being trained by the Israeli army during the Gaza crisis on riot control methods and other tactics. The report also found that besides the London police, the Israeli army also has trained personnel from U.S. police force in tactics and strategy that it "developed as an occupying army."

Since the use of an over militarised police during the Ferguson riots in U.S., there has been debate on the dangers of an over militarised police.

According to Eran Efrati,an investigative researcher into the Israeli military, Israel's training of American police is dangerous. "Their methods are developed in a context, where the 'citizens' are seen and treated as an enemy to be crushed."

Highlighting on the dangers of U.S. police being trained by Israeli, Efrati, who has served in the Israeli army explains in a video: "when your police come back, you become their enemy."

Back in January an Israeli human rights group had accused the country's military of "extensively and systematically" violating its own rules of engagement in suppressing Palestinian demonstrators in the West Bank, contributing to dozens of deaths in recent years, New York Times had reported.

The report by the group B'Tselem, found that Israeli army on several instances used live ammunition on stone throwers.

The other non-lethel weapons that were used in a dangerous way by the Israeli army to disperse protesters were - Rubber-coated metal bullets (IDF often tries to reduce the rubber on the metal bullets), Stun grenades and tear gas (it is made lethal by firing it directly on protesters).
