ISM 1st weekend box office report: Puri Jagannadh's film beats 3-day collections of Kalyan Ram's Pataas

Puri Jagannadh's ISM has made a good collection at the worldwide box office over the first weekend. The film has shattered the three-day collection record of Pataas and has become the highest grosser for Kalyan Ram.

Puri Jagannadh's association with actor-cum-producer Nandamuri Kalyan Ram had generated a lot of hype for ISM before its release. Its promos had also created a lot of curiosity about the movie. After seeing the massive hype and promotion, trade experts from film nagar predicted the film would get a good opening at the box office.

As predicted, ISM, which had a good advance booking, received a superb response and registered decent occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes on the first day. The strong word of mouth helped the movie go from strength to strength on the following days.

ISM has collected approximately Rs 13.50 crore gross at the worldwide box office over the first weekend. The film is estimated to have earned over Rs 7.86 crore for its global distributors in three days. The movie has shattered the record of Kalyan Ram's previous hit Pataas, which collected Rs 7.81 crore gross (Rs 5.26 crore share) at the global box office in its opening weekend.

ISM has continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters even on weekdays and it has got a good response on Monday. Mahesh S Koneru, the publicist for banner NTR Artis, tweeted: "Solid Monday for #ISM . Word of mouth and revenues remain superb for the common man's blockbuster."

Andhra Box Office tweeted: "It is a Good 1st Weekend for #ISM at the Domestic Box-office!. Monday Poster. #ISM seems set for a Promising Monday with Major Centers Reporting Good occupancies this morning. Weekend BO in the evening."
