Puri Jagannadh's ISM, which hit the screens on Friday, October 21, has opened to mixed reviews. The Telugu movie got a fantastic opening on the release day at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office.
ISM had generated a lot of buzz with its promotions. The trailer of the Telugu movie had struck a chord with film buffs, helping the movie to register a good opening.
According to trade reports, ISM has registered the best opening so far for Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The Telugu movie has earned a distributor's share of Rs 2.6 crore while the approximate gross collection is said to be over Rs 5 crore.
However, ISM, which is said to be made with a budget of over Rs 25 crore, has to perform well in the days to come in order to make profit.
Interestingly, ISM also opened well in the United States. The theatrical rights of the Telugu movie have been acquired by Cine Galaxy, which has marketed the film well across North America. As a result, the film collected $44,700 from the premieres.
ISM is an action film, which has been written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Kalyan Ram under the banner of NTR Arts. Kalyan Ram, who is playing the hero in the film, has undergone a complete makeover and is seen flaunting six-pack abs and a stylish get-up.
The movie stars Aditi Arya in the female lead role, and Jagapathi Babu, Posani Krishna Murali, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Tanikella Bharani and others in supporting characters. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram himself has produced the project, which features Anup Rubens' music, Mukesh G's cinematography and Junaid Siddiqui's editing.
