If Atletico de Kolkata cannot overcome the three-goal deficit in the second leg of the second semifinal of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2015 at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan (Saltlake Stadium), then it will be all over for the defending champions.
Atletico de Kolkata will have the home advantage against Chennaiyin FC on Wednesday. The stadium is likely to be packed with fans, who will be right behind the home team. That will definitely encourge ATK and add a little bit of extra bit of pressure on the visitiors.
But the chants and the cheers will not matter if the ATK players are not at their sublime best against Chennaiyin FC on Wednesday.
Atletico de Kolkata managed to get the better of Chennaiyin FC twice during the league stage of the ISL 2015. But the Super Machans played an oustanding game of football to completely outclass Habas and his men in red and white stripes in the first leg on Saturday.
Atletico de Kolkata head coach Antonio Lopez Habas is aware of the mammoth task at hand, stating that he is thinking about nothing but attack.
"I'm planning to attack and attack and not let the opponents have the ball. We are a professional club with professional players. We want to respect the opponents and the supporters. For us the idea is to win the game. So we want to keep a professional approach," Habas told reporters at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
"The plan in Pune [in the first leg] was to win the game. The injury to [skipper] Borja [Fernandez] was a detriment. In 90 minutes, many things can happen and we have 90 minutes more. And now we have to find ways to win the game."
Apart from Borja, Atletico de Kolkata will also have to take the field without Ofense Nato.
