The Saturday night Indian Super League action couldn't bring out a victor as Delhi Dynamos recorded a 1-1 draw against Atletico de Kolkata in the national capital.
Iain Hume gave the visitors an early lead, but Richard Gadze pulled one back for the hosts in the second half.
It was a remarkable finish from Iain Hume in the 27th minute of the match as a stunning cross from the right by full-back Rino Anto saw Toni Doblas come out of his line to make the save, but the ball fell for Hume on the rebound, and the Canadian slotted home powerfully with his swinger.
The lead could have doubled in the next moment itself as Jaime Gavilán had a go from a distance, and that could force yet another save from Doblas. However, the ball was still in play and before Hume could capitalise on the loose ball and pull the trigger, the Delhi Dynamos custodian just tipped the ball out.
Frenchman Florent Malouda had a brilliant opportunity in the 38th minute to get the equaliser after Amrinder Singh was out of his line, but ATK defender Tiri came to the rescue once again. The Spaniard had denied Robin Singh early on in the match following a great sliding tackle, and he made sure to keep the home side at bay in the first half.
There was a heated scuffle between Indian internationals Robin and Augustin Fernandes just before the half time, but that didn't escalate too much fortunately.
It was looking like the visitors were heading for their first clean sheet of the ISL this season, but that wasn't to be, as Richard Gadze scored the equaliser in the 61st minute after the blasting the ball into the top corner of the goal.
Gadze came on for Gustavo in the second half, and the move from Roberto Carlos worked wonders. Malouda, who remained a constant threat, passed the ball to Gadze, and the latter took the powerful shot with his left foot.
The lead was almost there for Delhi Dynamos in the 76th minute as Gadze once again pulled the trigger from inside the box; only to find it hit the upright and return as a rebound. And the shot from the rebound was a complete miss.
The drama didn't just end there. Just minutes later, Augustin Fernandes made a stunning goal-line save through his head to deny a sure-shot goal from Robin Singh. Substitute Adil Nabi also tried his luck in the closing stages, but the ATK goalkeeper came in for the rescue.
Neither side could get what they wanted -- moving to the top of the table with a win -- and they had to be content with a point each.
