Indian Super League side NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Uruguayan striker Sasha Aneff ahead of ISL 2016. The 24-year-old striker joins the Indian football side from Slovenian side NK Domzale.
The news comes just hours after the Guwahati-based side announced the signing of Indian central midfielder from Mizoram, Fanai Lalrempuia.
Sasha and Fanai now join Katsumi Yusa, Manoel Morais Amorim, Mailson Alves, Subrata Paul, Jerry Mawihmingthanga, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Nirmal Chettri, Rowllin Borges, Shouvik Ghosh and Sumit Passi at NorthEast United FC.
It was also confirmed that Sergio Farias will be the head coach of the side in ISL 2016.
On Sasha's signing, Farias has stated that the Uruguayan's aerial ability and strength will be the key for the team. "Sasha is strong, good in the air and is always on hand to pounce in the box. It is important for the squad to have a balanced mix and he definitely has the attributes we are looking for," Farias told the North East Today.
