Marco Materazzi has a full squad to choose from, as the defending champions Chennaiyin FC look for their first win of ISL 2016. It won't be easy, though, because they run into the team that lost the ISL 2015 final to them in controversial circumstances – FC Goa.
So, while revenge will be a word that will be used in the Goa camp, Chennaiyin will know the importance of picking up three points, so that their season can finally get going.
Chennaiyin drew their opening match of ISL with Atletico de Kolkata 2-2, before being outclassed by Delhi Dynamos 3-1 on their own home turf. Chennaiyin will hope for a better result at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai this time around, and to do that Materazzi will need to get his team right.
The Italian admitted if he could have, he would have substituted all 11 players from the match against the Delhi Dynamos, such was the lack of quality in his team's performance. With a fully fit squad to pick, Materazzi said he will select the players he feels deserves a place in the starting XI.
"All are available," Materazzi said. "It is a good thing for a manager or head coach to have everyone to choose from. So I have had time to think about the last game, to think about my choices. As I've said earlier, whoever deserves to play will play.
"Last game, if I could have changed the entire 11 or 12, including me, I would have changed but regulations allow to change only three. So I've had time to think about it and I will play my best 11 (against FC Goa)."
Zico, whose team have lost both games in ISL 2016 so far, has a couple of injury worries to overcome, with Robin Singh, the India international striker, still a doubt, while goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, despite returning to training, could still miss out.
"I cannot say," Zico said when asked about Robin Singh's availability. "We have one more training session to go and only after that we will know which players can play.
"He (Subhasish) is practising. He has been cleared by the doctors to play. So when the opportunity comes for him he will play."
