The Indian Super League (ISL) 2015 have showcased some amazing talent, be it Indian or from the overseas. Let's look into five of the Indian players who exceeded all expectations and have surely caught the eyeballs of the clubs in the I-League.
1. Arata Izumi (Atletico de Kolkata) - This Japan-born Indian player has been extremely effecient in this season of the ISL. He has been one of the most impactful players in the side. Not only has he converted chances into goals but also his connection with forward Iain Hume has been much talked about. The way they connect when the defending champions breaks into a counter attack is commendable. He has also come up with brilliant crosses and through balls. As Atletico de Kolkata have qualified for the semi finals of the ISL 2015, he will surely be one of the players to watch out for.
2. Thoi Singh (Chennaiyin FC) - Chennaiyin FC, with a below average start in the ISL 2015, lost a number of games midway through the league. Certain players in the side backed themselves up in a way that they have bounced back in the right time. Thoi Singh is one of them for sure. He has been outstanding in the midfield and also in the wings at times. The way he has delivered balls for Stiven Mendoza, who is the highest goal scorer of the ISl 2015 as of now, really needs words of appreciation.
3. Mandar Rao Dessai (FC Goa) - The Goa wing wizard has had a wonderful tournament so far. He is extremely dangerous when allowed space down the flanks and can easily cut through the opposition's defense. Dessai has been involved in a number of goals that the Gaurs have scored in this season of the ISL. Although he has not scored many goals, he definitely has earned a number of assists for himself.
4. Anas Edathodika (Delhi Dynamos) - The Kerala-born defender has played 11 games so far and has made 37 tackles and 13 interceptions. Those numbers might be higher for other players but his tackles came in crucial games. He has been rock solid in the defensive wall alongside the likes of John Arne Riise and others.
Last but not the least,
5. Sunil Chhetri (Mumbai City FC) - The Indian football team skipper was roped in by Mumbai City FC in the ISL 2015. A lot of money were paid for him and it was for a purpose that Chhetri would score goals for the Mumbai-based franchise in ISL 2015. Guess what, he is the highest Indian goal scorer of the ISL 2015. Although Mumbai City FC cannot reach ISL 2015 semi final, Chhetri will be looking forward to adding some more goals to his name when they will take on the defending champions Atletico de Kolkata in their last league game on Friday.
