Brazil legend Roberto Carlos, who is also the coach of Delhi Dynamos in this edition of the Indian Super League, has said that he is not returning to the ISL next season.
Not only that, FC Goa Zico is also unlikely to stay as the head coach of FC Goa for the third season.
The startling decision from the Samba kings comes just hours before the crucial ISL semi final first leg clash between Delhi Dynamos and FC Goa at the national capital on Friday.
"Next season I won't be coming," Carlos was quoted by The Indian Express. "In every professional life, you go with opportunities that come. You perform well and someone else comes with an offer, that's how it goes," the left-back added, without mentioning what exactly those 'opportunities' are.
Zico, meanwhile, has said that he is analysing some opportunities from the European and other Asian shores, but he is keeping the door open for a return to ISL 2016.
"There are some offers from clubs European and Asian clubs that I am analysing," said the 62-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best attacking mid-fielders of all time. "National teams can happen but it's tough because they are in preparation phase for the World Cup.
"Of course, if I get long-term contract I will not be available [for FC Goa]. I gave my word to owners to fulfill my two years contract and I did it. Now, let's see. I am not saying I will not come back also. Maybe," Zico added.
