The United States defence department is examining an Islamic State video appearing to show militants from the so called Islamic State in control of weapons that were dropped for Syrian Kurdish fighters to battle the deadly jihadists.
This comes after about 27 bundles containing small arms, ammunition and other weaponry were dropped by the US military in defense of the town of Kobane from the IS militants.
Although a Pentagon spokesman has said that the vast majority of the weapons ended up in the right hands, it has been noted that weapons being seized by the militants is a worrying issue.
The incident takes place as street fight continues to rage in the town targeted by the militant group. Kurdish forces launched a fierce attack "on all fronts" in Kobane on Monday. According to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights cited by the BBC, 30 IS fighters and 11 Kurdish defenders were killed on Tuesday, adding that the Islamists were bringing reinforcements.
Kobane, which shares border with Turkey, has been under intense assault from the IS militants for weeks and many civilians were forced to leave the town.
Turkey has said it would allow Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga fighters to cross into Syria to fight the notorious terrorist group. However, reports have suggested that Turkey ignored illegal border crossings conducted by the ISIS militant in order to attack the bordering town.
Other reports have also emerged that the injured members of the Islamic State were being transferred to Turkey.
The report on Monday also gave details of how the Turkish army deliberately light up the night sky with the help of flares, making it easy for the militants to transfer the injured militants in the dark to Turkish hospitals.
