Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly on the top of her game but it seems the actress cannot hide her personal insecurity.
It is an open secret that Padukone is dating her "Ram-leela" co-actor Ranveer Singh, though the two have not admitted to the relationship yet.
Singh is all set to star in Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do" in a significant role but the twist lies in his pairing opposite Anushka Sharma, who incidentally is his former girlfriend.
And we feel it is this insecurity which has led the "Chennai Express" actress to express her desperation to feature in the Akhtar film.
Padukone recently stated that she was bowled over by the film's script and is ready to be a part of it at any cost; even in the role of an assistant director.
"I love the script so much that I am ready to work in any capacity on the film, including an assistant director (AD)," Padukone told Hindustan Times.
While the actress may laugh off claims that the comments were made of insecurity, we assume the obvious.
Padukone's concern appears legitimate since Singh has been recorded speaking highly of ex-flame Sharma on numerous occasions. He even went to the extent of stating that Sharma, his "Band Baaja Baaraat" co-star, is one of the biggest influences of his acting career, and even listed her above Padukone in the acting charts on "Koffee with Karan"
It remains to be seen whether Padukone's request reaches Akhtar but the actress should definitely keep in mind the concept of Freudian slip henceforth.
