Chiyaan Vikram's Iru Mugan has performed well at the overseas box office. In its second weekend, the Tamil film has done decent business in centres like US and UK, while making an impressive collection in Malaysia.
In the first weekend, Iru Mugan had earned $133,750 (Rs 89.54 lakh) from 90 screens. The business saw a huge dip in the following days as it ended its second weekend at $160,847 (Rs 1.08 crore), reports Bollywood Hungama.
Iru Mugan had raked in £41,614 (Rs 36.95 lakh) in the opening weekend at the UK box office. By the end of its second weekend, the total collection of the film stood at £71,100 (Rs 62.1 lakh) in this centre.
Interestingly, Iru Mugan has done well in Australia. After earning A$ 102,700 (Rs 51.73 lakh) from 13 screens in the first weekend, it added close to 15 lakh to take its total tally to A$ 131,755 (Rs 66.49 lakh) in this part of the world.
In New Zealand, the film has so far collected NZ $14,496 (Rs 7.09 lakh). However, the biggest overseas centre for Iru Mugan has turned out to be Malaysia. It has minted MYR 13,87,329 (Rs 2.26 crore) by the end of its second weekend.
In the first weekend, Iru Mugan had raked in MYR 675,692 (Rs 1.1 crore) from 34 screens. In its second weekend, it saw a good growth as it earned over Rs 1.25 crore from 35 screens.
Iru Mugan, which has been made with a budget of Rs 40 crore, has come out with flying colours in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Despite getting mixed reviews, the combined collection of Iru Mugan and its Telugu version, Inkokkadu stands at Rs 90.07 crore.
