Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has never failed to impress audience with his performances. The recent buzz is that the actor has doubled up as a casting director for his films.
According to DNA, Irrfan recommended Nimrat Kaur for Lunch Box and now, he has endorsed Pakistani actress Saba Qamar for Hindi Medium.
"Irrfan Khan takes his international fame very seriously. So much so that now sits on the casting along with the casting director. He'd selected Nimrat Kaur for Lunchbox just by looking at her photograph," DNA quoted a source as saying.
"He cast Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in his next after seeing a video where she was talking about Aamir Khan. They wanted a smart and savvy girl like Kangana Ranaut, but she only does female-oriented films. He wanted Priyanka Chopra initially, but she was busy in Hollywood, so Saba was selected," the source added.
Slated for May 19, Hindi Medium deals with a couple's struggle to get their daughter admitted to a posh English school.
Irrfan told ANI: "Sometimes the co-actors become very important because your onscreen chemistry plays a vital role for the film. So when I saw her YouTube videos, I recommended her to the director and producer and they really liked her."
