Tamil movie "Iraivi" marks the reunion of Karthik Subbaraj, Vijay Sethupathi and Santhosh Narayanan, who had earlier collaborated in the hit movie "Pizza." The film also stars SJ Suryah and Bobby Simha. Anjali, Pooja Devariya and Kamalinee Mukherjee are the female leads, while Karunakaran, Radharavi, Vadivukkarasi, Kaali Venkat and others are in the supporting cast. It has Sivakumar Vijayan's cinematography department and Vivek Harshan's editing.

The theme of "Iraivi" is about relationships. It is a hard hitting film on male-female psyche and how the men take their better halves for granted. The film highlights the contradicting behaviour of men during happy and sad times. Arul played by SJ Suryah is an alcoholic and a director, whose film is struggling to see the light of the day following some differences with the producer.

He takes his frustrations out on his wife Yazhini (Kamalinee Mukherjee). Bobby Simha is Arul's younger brother, who is a feminist and Michael (Vijay Sethupathi) works in their shop.

Michael has tied the knot with Ponni (Anjali) against his wishes and he continues to have romantic relationship with Malar (Pooja). He is insensitive towards his wife, who dreams to have a happy life. At some stage, circumstances make the three join hands in a crime and what follows next is a series of unexpected events.

The movie has got positive reviews from the audience. People have appreciated the novel attempt and strong performances of the key characters. SJ Suryah has come out with an award-worthy performance, Vijay Sethupathi has underplayed his role and Bobby Simha has given his best, after delivering poor performances in some of his recent flicks. Anjali,  Pooja Devariya and Kamalinee Mukherjee are equally good in their solid roles.
