After a shaky start to their International Premier Tennis League 2016 campaign, the Japan Warriors will look to get their campaign back on track as they take on the Indian Aces. The Japan Warriors have won just one of their last four matches and currently sit at the bottom of the table, so a win against the Indian Aces could really help their cause.
The last time these two teams met, the Indian Aces won the match with relative ease winning it 30-17. The Warriors are in desperate need for a win as another loss will probably rule them out of finishing in the top two. Fernando Verdasco and Jelena Jankovic have not won a single set this tournament and both of them will have to step up their game against the Indian Aces if they are to come out with a result from this match.
The Indian Aces have been in superb form so far losing, just one match to the UAE Royals. They managed to avenge their loss in the Singapore leg on Tuesday, defeating the Royals those 26-19. Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have been in impressive form for the Aces, losing just one of their sets so far. Another key performer for them has been Kirsten Flipkens, who managed a 6-3 win over Ana Ivanovic in her previous set.
The second match of the day sees the home team Singapore Slammers take on the UAE Royals. The teams currently sit second and third in the table respectively, both having won two and lost two matches. The Singapore Slammers go into this match on the back of an impressive win over the Japan Warriors. The Slammers, though, will not want a repeat of their previous encounter against the UAE Royals, when they lost 29-19.
The UAE Royals had a disappointing first match in the Singapore leg, when they lost 26-19 to the Indian Aces and they will look to bounce back in their second match. Tomas Berdych will be a key player for them, having losing just one set this tournament.
