Ashish Nehra has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2017, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad are still sweating over the fitness of Yuvraj Singh ahead of the win-or-you-go-home Eliminator against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders finished third and fourth respectively, which is why they find themselves playing the do-or-die match in the IPL 2017 playoffs.
With the Mumbai Indians awaiting the winner of this match, it will be interesting to see which team comes to the fore on Wednesday.
Usually big matches are when the big-name players step up, and one of SRH's biggest is Yuvraj. The left-hander missed the Sunrisers' last league game with a finger injury, and the head coach Tom Moody revealed the veteran's availability will depend on him coming through a fitness test.
SRH did quite well without Yuvraj in their last game against the Gujarat Lions, with Vijay Shankar impressing with the bat, while stitching together an outstanding match-winning partnership with his captain David Warner.
So, if Yuvraj does come back, it looks like Deepak Hooda will be the man to make way for the India star.
Apart from that one change, the Sunrisers Hyderabad are likely to stick with the same playing XI, which could mean Kane Williamson missing out again.
Unless Mohammad Nabi fails to get fit in time, with the Afghani also struggling with a finger injury. Nabi could be really handy on the slow wicket at the Chinnaswamy, and it makes sense to keep him in the playing XI, if fit.
If Williamson is to make his way into the SRH XI, provided Nabi makes it, it has to be at the expense of Moises Henriques. However, the SRH management have been reluctant to drop the Australian, even if Henriques has hardly bowled, and when he has, he hasn't been too impressive. His batting form has been pretty decent, however.
While Nehra is a big miss, Mohammed Siraj and Siddarth Kaul have stepped up really well and the Sunrisers Hyderabad will hope the fast bowlers sparkle again.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will be kicking themselves at failing to seal a top two spot, after losing their last two matches, but they will know, as long as they play the kind of cricket that kept them in that top two for much of IPL 2017, they should be able to come away with a win.
Chris Lynn has been a big positive for KKR since returning from injury, and it looks like the Australian will partner up with Sunil Narine at the top of the order again, with Gautam Gambhir coming in at No.3 and Robin Uthappa at No.4.
KKR will be without Chris Woakes, their leading wicket-taker, for the rest of the IPL after the fast bowler joined up with the England squad for a preparatory camp ahead of an ODI series against South Africa.
Nathan Coulter-Nile has missed the last few games after getting hit on the helmet, and it remains to be seen if the Australian will be fit enough to play his part in the Eliminator. If not, Trent Boult should keep his place in the playing XI and line up against his former team.
Owing to the slow nature of the wicket in Bengaluru, KKR might consider bringing in Piyush Chawla for Ankit Rajpoot, although the fast bowler has done well whenever called upon.
