Gujarat Lions all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of IPL 2017. Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina announced the news during the toss ahead of GL's match against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
Bravo had a suffered hamstring injury in December last year during the Big Bash League, and also underwent a surgery in January 2017. He is presently on the recovery path.
This is bad news for Bravo fans, who were hoping to see the West Indian back for Gujarat Lions later in the competition. He was an instrumental player for the team last season, with both bat and ball.
"Bravo has been doing proper rehab and it might take three-four weeks, so he might be out of the tournament. So now we have to talk to the management and think about a replacement," Raina said.
The Gujarat Lions have not been able to play quality cricket and have lost four matches so far. Now, the team management needs to find a suitable replacement for Bravo.
