Mumbai Indians have made a poor start to IPL 2016. They have lost three out of the four matches and are desperate to get back to winning ways.
The defending champions will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday and it is expected to be a difficult game for the hosts.
The last time RCB played the Mumbai Indians at this venue, there was carnage, orchestrated by AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.
Rohit Sharma will be wary of RCB's batting strength and will look to plan accordingly.
Meanwhile, RCB also lost their last match, against the Delhi Dardevils and will look to put up a better show against the Mumbai Indians.
Here is a look at some of the players who could make an impact in tonight's game:
Mumbai Indians:
Martin Guptill: The destructive opening batsman was added to the Mumbai Indians squad as a replacement for Lendl Simmons. Although, he got out cheaply against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game, he can cause havoc at the top of the order. Once he gets going, very few bowlers in the world can stop the run flow from his willow.
Jasprit Bumrah: Bumrah is a death over specialist in limited-overs cricket, but he has not being able to make an impact in this current season of the IPL. He has managed to pick up just two wickets in four matches with an economy of 8.07. Bumrah needs to step up to the occasion with the white cherry.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Virat Kohli: Kohli has been incredible form in the shortest format of the game. Kohli has led from the front brilliantly so far, even if his side could not defend a big total against the Daredevils in the last game. Kohli will surely look to come up with another top-notch knock against Mumbai Indians.
AB de Villiers: If Virat Kohli is averaging 77 in IPL 2016, De Villiers is not too far away, at 68.50. In both pf RCB's matches, De Villiers has looked dangerous. De Villiers has batted extremely well in tandem with skipper Kohli in both the matches. The Wankhede Stadium does not have big boundaries, so the ball could fly off De Villiers' bat in this game.
