The defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in IPL 2016 Wednesday. The visitors have made a slow start to their IPL 2016 campaign, where as the Knights ran riot in their first game.
Mumbai Indians hold a pretty good record against KKR. They will look to build on that when they take the field at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Here is a look at some of the players to watch out for in tonight's IPL game between KKR and MI:
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):
Andre Russell: The big West Indian all-rounder removed the top three Delhi Daredevils batsmen to put a lot of pressure on them in their first match. Then, the rest of the KKR bowlers ran through the Daredevils batting lineup. Russell is not only a handy bowler with the new ball, but he is also a destructive batsman. Mumbai Indians must have a plan to counter him or else he can cause havoc at the Eden Gardens.
Brad Hogg: The chinaman bowler picked up three wickets, while giving away just 22 runs in his four overs against DD. The 45-year old Australian is a very economical during the middle-overs and he picks up those wickets at regular intervals as well. Hogg adds to the variety of the KKR bowling attack, which is considered one of the best in the IPL.
Mumbai Indians (MI):
Rohit Sharma: Rohit is back at his favourite ground, and he will be looking to add a lot more runs to his name. Rohit's form with the bat will also be crucial if the Mumbai Indians want to pick up their first win in IPL 2016.
Jasprit Bumrah: He will look to take his India form into IPL 2016. Bumrah was not that impressive against the Rising Pune Supergiants. He was taken for plenty and that is something the youngster will need to improve on. The death over specialist needs to be at his best to knock a few KKR batsmen out. If he bowls in the right areas, he can be very dangerous.
