The two new franchises of the IPL 2016 Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants will square off in Rajkot. Both teams have made winning starts to their IPL 2016 campaign, but one team will see the face of defeat for sure.
MS Dhoni's Supergiants thumped Mumbai Indians on one hand and on other, Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions eased past Kings XI Punjab in their first match.
As Rajkot gears up for his first ever IPL match between the Supergiants and the Lions, the excitement is palpable.
The two sides have a lot of firepower to make this encounter and epic one. Former teammates Dhoni and Raina will take on each other for the first time since the inception of the IPL. It will be interesting to see who prevails at the end of the day.
Let us take a look at some of theplayers who can make a difference in tonight's game:
Gujarat Lions:
Brendon McCullum: One of the most destructive opening batsmen in the world, McCullum is known for his ability to hit the ball ruthlessly. He failed to make an impact in the first game of the IPL 2016 for his new franchise but he will be eager to bounce back and score some runs for his side. McCullum does not really care about who is bowling at him, as he just loves to smash the ball.
Dwayne Bravo: This West Indian all-rounder has emerged as one of the best in business. He achieved his career-best T20 figures against Kings XI Punjab in the first match at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. He will look to continue with his form with the ball against the Supergiants as well.
Rising Pune Supergiants:
Kevin Pietersen: The former England batsman has played in almost all the T20 tournaments across the world and by now, he knows the tricks of the trade. We got to see a glimpse of Pietersen in the first match against the Mumbai Indians and we would like to see more from this brilliant batsman.
Ravichandran Ashwin: When it comes to the spin department, Dhoni can rely on Ashwin for sure. Over the years, he has pulled Dhoni out of serious situations with his ability to pick up wickets at regular intervals and variations. Ashwin was ok in the first match but going by his standard, he will be looking to put in some extra-effort when they will take the field against the Gujarat Lions.
