FreeCharge is adding more hype to the upcoming IPL cricket season with its "Lo.Do.Khatam.Karo" campaign, India-based mobile wallet and digital payments platform said Thursday. The new campaign is aimed at bringing exciting activities, contests and prizes throughout the entire Vivo IPL 2016 season, which starts April 9 and runs through May 27.
The "Lo.Do.Khatam.Karo" campaign is built around FreeCharge's recently-launched "Chat-n-Pay" service, which allows users to initiate payments over chat. Chat-n-Pay is an active part of the company's efforts to create a payment OS for India and popularise digital payments through mobile wallets in the country, FreeCharge COO Govind Rajan said earlier this week, the Indian Express reported.
"We are very excited to launch our new campaign Lo.Do.Khatam.Karo," Rajan said in a statement, Wednesday. "The Lo.Do.Khatam.Karo campaign plays on situations when sending and asking for money the traditional way can result in slightly awkwardly humorous situations. Thereby driving home the ease and convenience of FreeCharge's Chat-n-Pay service, which enables customers send and request money instantly to anybody in less than 5 seconds."
"With this campaign, we aim to showcase how digital wallets make one's life simpler and can be easily adopted in daily life activities," Rajan added.
FreeCharge said that it will be offering digital prizes to winners of its contests. Various activities and contests, such as predict-to-win and Dubsmash videos, will be hosted to keep up the IPL spirit throughout the season.
Additionally, TV commercials highlighting FreeCharge Chat-n-Pay service will go live across 29 channels and a new microsite will bring host-generated content to engage users starting Saturday. Details of the contests will be shared once the IPL season begins.
