James Faulkner was one of the most effective bowlers when Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered their sixth victory of the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015, against Delhi Daredevils on Sunday.
Faulkner reflected on this all important victory saying that they are happy to get back to winning ways as they had lost the momentum for some time losing three matches out of their last five games before the Delhi match. This win will help them boost their confidence and come back strong in their remaining three matches.
The Australian all-rounder picked up the wickets of the two most dangerous batsmen that Delhi have - Yuvraj Singh and JP Duminy, who could have won them the game. But Faulkner's superb death bowling helped the Royals to register this comfortable victory.
"It was a satisfying win for everyone. We started very well and set a good platform with the bat. Ajinkya Rahane's innings was fantastic and Karun Nair as well showed what a good player he is. Everything is looking positive at the moment. But, everyone knows the IPL is a funny game and we still have three games left. Anything can happen. We played a pretty good game of cricket today as a team," said Faulkner in an interview to the official website of IPL.
He also heaped praise on Ajinkya Rahane for his classy innings of 91 runs that helped Rajasthan Royals to post a total of 189 runs on the board. Rahane batted extremely well alongside youngster Karun Nair and 113 runs in tandem.
"I think he is a class player. Rajasthan Royals are very lucky to have him. He has done very well for us at the top in this IPL. Not just in the IPL he has also shown his class in international cricket. He has a bright future and all the Indian fans have a lot of hopes for his future and potential in international cricket. There is no surprise that he is getting runs in the IPL again and everyone loves him," added Faulkner.
