Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are all set to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) one last time in match no. 53 of the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 in Mohali on Saturday.
KXIP have nothing to lose and they would be playing for pride and would look to give their fans at home some entertainment. After a terrible run in the ongoing tournament, they managed to outplay Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last game.
Meanwhile, CSK have already qualified for the playoff stages. They would be eyeing one of the top two spots in the standings so that they get two shots to reach the big final on 24 May, which is supposed to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Let's have a look at some of the key players from both these sides:
Kings XI Punjab
Wriddhiman Saha - Although he has not played any big innings in this edition of the IPL, his quick-fire 20's and 30's can be very crucial. He does not muscle the ball but loves to time it. A wristy player who can take the bowlers to the cleaners. He is likely to open the batting with Manan Vohra on Saturday against CSK. His knock of 31 runs from just 12 balls helped KXIP post a commanding total on the board and outplay RCB in their last game.
David Miller - Miller has been the best batsman for KXIP in this season. He has notched up 346 runs in 12 games at an average of 34.60. He likes to hit the ball a long way and has this ability to take on any bowler in the world. If he starts hitting the ball from the middle of his willow, then he can cause some severe damage to the opponents.
Chennai Super Kings
Brendon McCullum - This match will probably be his last match before he departs for England to join his national side. He has given CSK just the kind of start that MS Dhoni expects out of their openers. He has amassed 430 runs in 13 matches at an average of 35.83 and that includes two half-centuries and a brilliant ton. He starts hitting the ball right from the word go and KXIP won't like that.
Dwayne Bravo - Bravo is currently the holder of the 'Purple Cap' with 19 scalps to his name. His all-round performance have powered CSK yet again to the playoff stages of the T20 extravaganza. He has also taken some blinders on the field that can surely rank in few of the best catches of the ongoing tournament. He also holds the key to the CSK middle-order if the top order fails.
