Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 by 41 runs to be crowned champions of the IPL 2015 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
MI posted a huge total of 202 runs on the board. CSK struggled throughout their innings and eventually could not even reach anywhere near the target.
Mumbai Indians have now won the IPL trophy twice in three years. Also, they have won it against the same opponent in the finals as they did in 2013 and also at the same venue.
MI skipper Rohit Sharma was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant innings upfront to set the stage for the rest of the middle-order to follow.
CSK won the Fair Play Award. The team now has the record of having reached the IPL finals six times and lost four of them.
