There is no bowler in the world who can stop Chris Gayle if he gets going. He showed exactly the same against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as he guided Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a three-wicket victory in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 reported the official website of the IPL.
RCB batsmen were up against one of the best bowling attack of the tournament. They were losing wickets at regular intervals, but this big Caribbean stood on one end and sealed the deal for his side. He was, however, lucky to get two lives as Morne Morkel dropped him twice in the out-field. But, if Gayle is given chances of that sort, he will surely turn on the heat.
In a tete-a-tete with the official website of the IPL, Gayle said he was sure that he could win it for his side.
"It is a good start to our IPL. From the team point of view we are very happy to get a win. Any game that you play first you always want to start with a win and we have got that. It was a great game of cricket and both teams played well. I am really happy to turn up on the winning side," he said.
"I wanted to bat the whole twenty overs and I just fancied myself to win the game and eventually it happened. At no stage did I panic. I know my ability and I know I can get it. I just had the belief that I could get the team home."
Gayle fell short of a century, but he was happy that he could win the game for his side. He also promised to score a lot of runs in the ongoing IPL.
