Apple has been maintaining utmost secrecy on its flagship device iPhone 7, but leaks have revealed several details, including specifications and release date. The handset has just a few days to go before being released, and reports have suggested that it will have several significant upgrades over its predecessor.
The Cupertino giant is expected to make the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus available for pre-orders on Sept. 9 and release on Sept. 23. The report holds waters as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s were released during this time of the year.
Here are the five feature upgrades Apple's iPhone 7 is expected to have over iPhone 6s:
1) Processor: The iPhone 7 and its larger sibling iPhone 7 Plus are expected to be powered by an A10 chip, while the iPhone 6s has a an A9 chip under the hood.
2) Operating System: The iPhone 6s runs iOS 9 operating system, but the upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to come running iOS 10.
3) Storage: The iPhone 7 is expected to come packed with a 3GB RAM but the iPhone 6s has a 2GB RAM and a 16/64/128 GB internal memory.
4) Camera: The iPhone 6s has a 12MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, 29mm lens, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/3" sensor size and 1.22 µm pixel size, and a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 31mm lens. The iPhone 7 on the other hand is expected to mount a dual camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) feature.
5) Apple's new flagship is also expected to come with lightning jack, waterproof and capacitive touch button features that are not seen in iPhones so far.
Interestingly, a report by MobiPicker has claimed that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be cheaper than its respective predecessors. It suggested that the iPhone 7 will be priced at 5258 Yuan (around $802) for the 32GB, 6088 Yuan (around $924) for the 64GB, and 7088 Yuan (around $1075) for the 256GB, as against 5,288 Yuan for the 16GB model of iPhone 6s. The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to be priced at 6088 Yuan (around $924) for the 32GB, 6888 Yuan (around $1045) for the 128GB, and 7888 Yuan (around $1197) for 256GB, compared to 7,788 Yuan for the 128GB model of the iPhone 6s Plus.
