Apple iPhone 7 is going to be the next big thing in iPhone's history with radical changes are expected to impress fans all around the world. The official launch date of the new iPhone series is still months away, but the rumours continue to flow in. The iPhone 7 Plus, which is going to be the 5.5-inch variant of the 2016 flagship, will feature an improvement in terms of battery and storage, a new report from China speculates.
According to China's MyDrivers, the iPhone 7 Plus will feature a new 256GB storage variant, doubling the highest storage option available in the current series. Does it mean Apple is going to double the storage on all of its variants, including the most-criticized 16GB? Unfortunately, there is no concrete evidence on this matter but makes complete sense considering the next iPhones will capture high-resolution images and 4K videos requiring more onboard space.
In addition, Apple is also rumoured to be equipping a bigger battery in its iPhone 7 Plus, MyDrivers reports. After reducing the battery size in iPhone 6s series to 2,750mAh from iPhone 6's 2,915mAh unit, Apple will once again increase the battery capacity in the upcoming iPhone 7. If the rumour is true, the iPhone 7 Plus will feature a 3,100mAh battery, which should address the most common problem of short-lived battery in iPhones.
These improvements have been linked to the iPhone 7 Plus and there is no word on whether the iPhone 7 will also get a bigger battery and higher storage, 9to5Mac reports.
If the previous iPhones are any indication, Apple always standardises the storage options for its smartphones. It is also quite evident that the iPhone 7 series will feature a new design among other upgrades. According to another report from GizChina, the iPhone 7 will feature flat metal sides, a single speaker grille and a slimmer body. In the leaked images, we also see the iPhone 7 supporting wireless charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which was rumoured to be replaced by lightening port.
There is a long way for Apple to officially announce the iPhone 7 and ample room for a lot of changes than what is being reported. So take these latest claims with a pinch of salt until something official arrives.
