Apple is keeping mum on the subject of its upcoming iPhone 7 series, but the rumours are rife with details about the upcoming flagship. Apple is widely believed to launch three iPhone 7 models -- the standard 4.7-inch iPhone 7, a 5.5-inch iPhone Plus and a premium iPhone Pro -- this year and likely to ditch the 16GB storage model from its line-up.

Now, there is new evidence that backs the ongoing speculation about the iPhone 7 variants. As per a listing on China's Wechat, Apple may reportedly launch the new iPhone series with 32GB, 128GB and 256GB variants, which means the 16GB and 64GB storage options will be discontinued. The report also states that these storage options will be available across all three iPhone variants.

With the new models and storage options, Wechat is also reporting the pricing of individual variants. Below is the price of iPhone 7, 7 Plus and 7 Pro in different storage options:

Models/Storage

iPhone 7

iPhone 7 Plus

iPhone 7 Pro

32GB

Â¥5,288 ($795)

Â¥6,088 ($915)

Â¥7,088 ($1,065)

128GB

Â¥6,088 ($915)

Â¥6,888 ($1,035)

Â¥7,888($1,185)

256GB

Â¥7,088 ($1065)

Â¥7,888 ($1,185)

Â¥8,888 ($1,335)

With these prices, Apple is certainly continuing its tradition of high-priced devices. But considering the rumours, which are suggesting there won't be many changes in terms of iPhone 7's design, Apple might have to face a challenge in selling in large volumes.

Industry experts and market watchers have forecasted poor iPhone sales this year.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reasoned his prediction of poor iPhone sales this year due to lack of appeal in the new flagship. Another analyst Mark Moskowitz of Barclays wrote in his note to investors in April that iPhone 7 wouldn't have "any must-have form factor changes" for iPhone 6s users.

In terms of changes, the iPhone 7 is expected to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, feature a slimmer body, dual camera setup in the "Pro" variant, new colour option, touch key home button, dual speaker design and wireless charging. But none of these features are confirmed and are still a part of the long-spinning rumour mill.
