Original story...
OnePlus 5 is one of the most-anticipated flagship smartphones of the year, and the company just confirmed its launch date as June 20. In what comes as a great surprise to Indian consumers is that the latest flagship is making its way to this part of the sub-continent just two days after its unveiling.
As the wait to see OnePlus 5 grows by the day, here's a closer look at the handset's design. Android Police obtained the official-looking render of the OnePlus 5 from a reliable source and corroborated its authenticity with another source to confirm that it is an accurate image of the phone.
There have been a lot of leaks and rumours about the OnePlus 5, but the latest leak sheds light on a lot more things than just the design. At the first glance, the OnePlus 5 looks a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus and bears a close resemblance to the recently-launched OPPO R11.
The leaked image of the OnePlus 5 shows the handset in matte black finish with a dual rear camera setup and an LED flash aligned in a horizontal order. The centre of the back has the company's minimalistic OnePlus logo.
Over to the sides, we find the power/lock button on the right, volume controls and an alert slider on the left. Evidently, the USB Type-C port and the speakers will be placed at the bottom, which is not seen in the image. It is also unclear if the handset will have a physical home button with fingerprint scanner in it or the company will do away with it to accommodate the biometric sensor under the display.
The leaked image also shows an edge-to-edge display with slightly curved screen. We'll have a clearer look along with hands-on experience of the phone at its India launch on June 22.
But there have been some details about the upcoming flagship teased by OnePlus itself. For instance, it is confirmed that OnePlus 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset. If you're interested in other specs, then rumours have it that the phone will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD/ 2K display, 12MP dual rear camera with RGB and Monochrome lenses, an 8MP front snapper, 6 gigs of RAM, 128GB storage and 3,600mAh battery with Dash Charge 2.0.
As for the pricing, OnePlus 5 is expected to cost around $449 (approx. €408/ Rs. 28,878). Are you excited about the OnePlus 5? Let us know in the comments below.
