Apple Inc. is expected to release two models of iPhone 6 - a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch - in September, and reports claim that the features of the larger variant will be superior to its smaller sibling.
The 5.5-inch model of iPhone 6 is expected to house 128GB of internal memory and boast a camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that allows users to capture sharper photos in low light but the smaller model may not come with these features, reported Forbes.
The display of the larger model will be sharper than its sibling, if one is to go by the reports. South Korean brokerage KDB Daewoo Securities has reported that iPhone 6 smaller model may come with a 1920x1080p (440ppi) resolution, while the larger device may feature a 2272×1280 (510ppi) resolution.
Meanwhile, the two models of iPhone 6 are expected to have several common features from the screen to processor.
Both models are expected to have a scratch-free sapphire crystal glass screen, powered by a 20-nanometer A8 chip (64-bit) processor and run on the recently released iOS 8. The devices may come with an 8MP camera, though only the larger variant is expected to have OIS feature.
Apple Insider has also reported, citing analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, that iPhone 6 may feature low temperature polysilicon in-cell touch panels, Touch ID fingerprint security, NFC and metal casing.
Chinese analyst Sun Chang Xu also posted on her social media page that the device may feature sensors that can detect pressure, temperature and humidity.
iPhone 6 Release Date
Apple Inc. is tight-lipped on the release date of iPhone but that has not stopped speculations with tipsters exposing detailed information. Bloomberg had reported earlier this week that Apple might release both the models of iPhone 6, contradicting several earlier reports that the larger variant might see the light of the day a few months after its smaller sibling hits the stands.
Citing leaked internal documents of wireless carrier Deutsche Telekom, German website, ApfelPage has claimed that the iPhone 6 would be unveiled on 19 September. A report by Nikkei and a research note by UBS Managing Director Steve Milunovich (via Barron's) also claimed that it would be unveiled either in August or September.
