There has been no news from AMC whether there will be a Season 2 of the highly popular series "into the Badlands" or not. However, if the new season is ever going to happen, Edi Gathegi is surely to reprise his role of Baron Jacobee, as confirmed by executive producer of the show, Al Gough.
As reported by Christian Today, Edi Gathegi has also confirmed that he will be playing the character, given that the second season of the martial arts series ever sees light of the day.
However, none of the officials from AMC has confirmed or hinted that there will be an order from the channel for a second season of "Into the Badlands." Nevertheless, TV Series Finale has mentioned that keeping in concern the critical accommodation garnered by first season of the series, another season is more than likely to happen.
According to the website, the first season performed well in its household ratings, with an average season premiere viewership of four million.
In an interview with Comic Book, the show runner Al Gough talked about how the story of Season 2 of "Into the Badlands" will develop.
"In Season 2, you'll meet more Barons. We'll explore the abbots. We'll explore other areas of the Badlands. Even though Sunny (Daniel Wu) and M.K. (Aramis Knight) look like they're being taken far away, Sunny's goal is going to be to get back to Veil (Madeleine Mantock) and find M.K," he said.
"Ultimately, it becomes what the series is called -- Into the Badlands. You'll definitely see more of the Badlands in Season 2, and really start to see the journey, the literal journey of these characters."
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the storyline of "Into the Badlands" revolves around a rogue warrior and a young boy who co-incidentally come across each other and journey together through an evil feudal land ruled by barons to seek enlightenment.
