Intex offers a wide range of affordable smartphones in India and the company is now expanding its product portfolio. Intex launched its latest Aqua Classic smartphone in India, featuring low-end specs in order to attract budget shoppers. While the affordable smartphone market in India is maturing with launches of Lenovo Vibe K5, Coolpad Note 3 Lite and others, Intex is making its bid at an even lower price.
Intex Aqua Classic is priced at Rs. 4,444 and the company claims it is designed to "manage multiple applications at once." The multi-tasking capability can be achieved by the system configuration of the Aqua Classic, which is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM.
"At Intex, it has been our continuous effort to empower our consumers by paying attention to their ever evolving desires," Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head at Intex Technologies, said in a statement. "With the launch of new Aqua Classic, we are looking to offer a unified smartphone experience, which makes their lives simpler and at the same time more amazing with benefits that come with the smartphone. With the latest design and diverse color variants, we are positive that the Aqua classic will be highly appreciated in the market by our customers."
In terms of design, the Aqua Classic features a textured back panel and measures 9.3mm thick. It weighs 160 grams including the battery and comes in three colours, white, grey and champagne. The smartphone features a 5-inch display with 480x854 pixel resolution and 196ppi. On the camera front, there is a 5MP rear snapper with LED flash and a VGA snapper for selfies.
Intex Aqua Classic is powered by a 2,100mAh battery, which the company claims to offer up to 6 hours of talk time, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. While most budget smartphones support 4G LTE, the Aqua Classic bands are limited to 3G. The handset features 8GB onboard storage with option to expand up to 32GB via microSD cards.
Intex Aqua Classic, like other Aqua smartphones, comes with pre-loaded apps like, Matrabhasha, Clean Master, Hike Messenger, Mobikwik, Freecharge, Saavn and Opera Mini. The handset is available across all major offline stores in India. With these specs, it remains to be seen whether Intex can beat the stronger rivals such as Lenovo, Motorola, Meizu and Xiaomi in the budget smartphone segment.
