Home-bred consumer electronics firm Intex on Friday (13 February) launched a new handset dubbed as Aqua Star L in India.
Intex Aqua Star L is the India's first indigenous smartphone brand to ship with the latest Android Lollipop 5.0.

Google's new Android v5.0 Lollipop OS comes with completely new design language – 'material design', bringing in interactive user interface, lots of animation graphics, replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime which will bring improvement in performance and battery-life enhancements.

Under the hood, 5.0-inch Intex Aqua Star L houses 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core SoC (System on Chip), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory, 2,000mAh battery, an 8mp camera and a 2mp snapper on the front.

The company has reportedly confirmed that the new Intex Star will be made exclusively available in white and black models on Snapdeal for ₹6,990 from 16 February onwards.
Competition:
Intex Aqua Star L will be up against the popular Android One series (Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V) Motorola Moto E, Asus Zenfone 4 (& 5 series) which are slated to get Lollipop update soon. Other competitors include Lenovo A6000, Huawei Honor Holly, Lumia 435, etc.
