The first-look poster of Tovino Thomas' upcoming Malayalam movie "Tick Tock" was released online by the movie's director debutant Vivek Anirudh on his Facebook page on Friday, July 22.
In an exclusive conversation with International Business Times India, Vivek opened up on what to expect from his debut directorial venture.
International Business Times India: What is Tick-Tock" all about and do you have any experience in film-making?
Vivek: "Tick Tock" is the first time travel movie in Malayalam. A man tries to find his past or tries to change his past seeking answers from himself. The film stars Tovino in the lead role. Time travel movies are complicated always. However, we are planning to make "Tick Tock", a simple and easy-to-grasp storyline for everyone.
Earlier, I had worked as an assistant director for the Tovino and Aparna Gopinath-starrer "Onnam Loka Mahayudham" in 2015.
IBT: Why did you cast Tovino in your first movie?
Vivek: Tovino is a director's actor and his acting calibre can be used well without the pressure of stardom. He was my first choice for the role. Writing the story of "Tick Tock" with him was very easy as I knew him very well.
IBT: Who is the heroine of "Tick Tock"?
Vivek: Model Aditi Ravi, who was featured in "Yelove" and "Yami" music albums with singer Siddharth Menon, will work with Tovino in the upcoming movie.
"Tick Tock" is the association of five friends and alumni of Maharajas College in Ernakulam. Kiran KS and Abinesh Appukuttan have penned the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Sajid Nazer handles the cinematography and Amar Nath, the editing. Harinarayanan writes the lyrics for the film's songs composed by Arun Muraleedharan.
The director also told IBTimes India that the pre-production works will begin soon. It will go on floors in February 2017 and is expected to hit the screens the same year.
