Despite the absence of superstars, Chemban Vinod Jose and Mrudula Murali-starrer "Shikhamani" has been considered one of the most-awaited films for being an untold story in Malayalam.
In an exclusive chat with International Business Times India, Mrudula spoke about what to expect from "Shikhamani" and her experience working with the cast and crew of the movie.
"Shikhamani is a railway gang-man, who clears the passage for trains, which go through the Korangini forest that is almost 40 kms from Theni. The hit Tamil movies 'Maina' and 'Kumki' were also shot here. My character in the movie is named Devika Raghavendra, who gets trapped in the forest due to something that happened by mistake, which I can't reveal now. She faces many consequences due to that and meets Shikhamani in the forest. They become friends and work together to solve the issues revolving around her. This is the basic plot of the film," Mrudula told IBTimes India.
Mrudula calls her co-actor Chemban Vinod "Mr. Cool," who plays the character Shikhamani, which has been inspired from a real-life person. The actress also promised that the audience can expect "Shikhamani" to be an engaging thriller.
Mrudula, who began her career in acting with Mohanlal-starrer "Red Chillies" in 2009 was last seen opposite Fahadh Faasil in Vineeth Kumar's "Ayaal Njanalla" in 2015.
