Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan definitely has one of the most loyal fans in the world. Twitter group "SRK Universe" decided that on 25 January would be celebrated as International SRK Appreciation Day. Club the idea with the dedication of millions of fans and gift vouchers, and you get one of the top trending tags of January's last Sunday.

"Tomorrow (25th January) we will trend "International SRK Appreciation Day" (without hashtag) from 12PM IST! RT and SPREAD. :)... We'll also be hosting a quiz/contest from 2PM IST. Winners can win gift vouchers. Trend: International SRK Appreciation Day!" SRK Universe had tweeted.

They had also included pop quizzes on the King Khan of Bollywood with prizes promised in the form of Flipkart vouchers. The trivia questions were base on Khan: "In which city was SRK born?", "Who called Shah Rukh Khan by the nickname 'Shah' for the first time?", "Which SRK film will release on 14th August this year?" and so on. 

With over 15,000 tweets on the trend in less than a couple of hours, the International SRK Appreciation Day was ranked worldwide as the 10th trending topic. 

Australian Fans of SRK, SRKUniverseAustralia tweeted, "Congratulations on making International SRK Appreciation Day trend worldwide everyone! Keep trending and showing your appreciation for SRK!"

Meanwhile, Malaysian fans tweeted an old picture of Shah Rukh Khan holding a rare species of orchids that was named after him. "Ascocenda Shahrukh Khan" is proudly exhibited at the VIP garden in National Orchid Garden, a part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, reports The Hindu.

  • When a fan tweeted "Whats up?" Khan replied, "My hair in the morning and chin the rest of the day."
  • When asked if fatherhood has affected his career he instantly replied, "Yeah, I treat all my heroines like children now. I pick them up, I cuddle them, I call them Baby."
  • "Most times I don't even get to choose the channel I want to watch on TV. Today I have an opportunity to choose my country's future. Awesome!" Khan tweeted in August, ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections in Maharashtra.
  • "I'm like a Rolls Royce which can run without an engine, just on reputation," he rightfully boasted during an interview.
