International Music Day is celebrated on 1 October, 2015 (Thursday) and on this day we bring to you some interesting genres in music that you may not even be aware of. Forget EDM, rock, pop, jazz and all those genres that you have been swearing by for all these years. Here are some brand new music styles that have made their way into the world of music and that various artists have been rooting for.

Slouch Rock: This style of music uses mid-tempo alternative rock which comprises lazily articulated vocals (usually male), and is backed by a fuzzy electric guitar track. Slouch rock is considered to be a modern incarnation of Bob Dylan's mumbles and slurs. Though their voices are very unconventional, but artists like King Krule and Mac DeMarco can also qualify in this genre because their music is very soothing.

CDM: This is where two of the most "love-to-hate" genres come together. CDM stands for Country Dance Music and as you may have guessed by its name, and this genre uses elements of country and dance music. This style can be created by using 4-on-the-floor beat of electronic beat and overlapping it with folk or country-like melodies and vocals. The song that comes closest to this genre is Pitbull and Kesha's "Timber". Many music gurus believe CDM is here to stay.

Dubstazz: This would be a perfect fusion of dubstep and traditional jazz or blues. Dubstazz is neither too jazzy nor too electronic with a loud bass; it's an amalgamation that uses the best of both the genres. Many list Moby's music under this category. And now, it is said that artistes like Pretty Lights and RJD2 have been experimenting with this genre.

Heroine Pop: Unlike a typical pop, this genre can be classified as a non-glossy, unglamorous style of female pop songwriting. Music created under this genre sees singers narrating blunt stories about adolescence, sex and class. Clearly artists like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lorde and Sky Ferreira come to your mind. The lyrics for Heroine Pop are a bit trashy and hyperbolic. And's that the reason you would be able to completely relate of its emotions.

TDM: The jargon stands for Tin-Foil Dance Music which fuses elements of metal, rock, EDM and hiphop. Well, it does look like TDM has got the best of all genres and it boasts mid-tempo high energy tracks. You would definitely want to dance on this music because it uses big room beats of EDM tracks and arranges them in and aggressive and progressive rock or metal music style. In the TDM genre one can clearly hear sounds of guitars and synth along with a good bass with vocals boasting rapping verses and singing hooks.
