The budget smartphone segment in India has shown high potential for growth. Indian smartphone manufacturers, like Mircomax, were among the first to create the segment.
Last year, Motorola and Xiaomi tasted overnight success by launching their budget smartphones in the market. Later, brands like Lenovo and Huawei made the game more complex by offering decent specifications at throw-away prices. Now, InFocus, a US-based smartphone company has debuted in the Indian budget smartphone segment by launching its budget smartphone M2.
Apart from the mid-range specs it offers, the key point of the M2 is its manufacturing by Foxconn, the largest OEM smartphone manufacturer in the world. The same original equipment manufacturer also manufactures Apple's iPhone and other devices, to name a few.
Coming to specifications, the InFocus M2 boasts of a 4.2-inch WXGA LTPS LCD display with 768x1280 pixels resolution at 355ppi, highest level of pixels per inch offered in the sub-Rs. 6,000 smartphone category. The M2 further features an 8MP rear camera with auto focus, smile/face/voice detection and a identical 8MP camera bundled with a LED flash.
Runs on Android Kitkat 4.4 the InFocus M2 comes powered by a MT6582 Quad-Core 1.3GHz SoC with 1GB RAM, 8GB worth ROM and supports micro SD up to 64GB. Powered by a 2100 mAh battery the smartphone equips with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, BT 4.0, GPS/APGS and FM Radio.
Competition
