If you are hunting for a budget laptop, look no further. InFocus on Tuesday launched an all-new Buddy notebook, offering stylish sleek design and an impressive spec sheet for Rs. 14,999. The new laptop comes in silver and gold colours and is available exclusively on Snapdeal.
"With the InFocus Buddy notebook, we want everyone to be able to get the experience of a full-fledged notebook for just Rs. 14,999, which is still seen as a preserve of high-end laptops," the InFocus India team said in a statement. "InFocus Buddy is our endeavor to cater to the core needs of the youth — internet browsing, multimedia and portability. The laptop delivers high performance, superior build quality of Foxconn, and a high design quotient while being low on budget."
InFocus Buddy measures 18mm thick and weighs less than 1.6kgs. It has a 13.3-inch HD eDP display and a powerful battery, which the company claims to last eight hours with HD playback. It also has silent-PC architecture with a fan-less design for quiet browsing. Top it all up with a Windows 10 operating system, which offers Cortana along with other benefits such as animations.
InFocus Buddy offers various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 slots, an HDMI slot and a microSD card slot, which adds an additional 256GB storage. The notebook is powered by a 2.6GHz Intel Celeron processor based on the latest Braswell platform, 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage.
InFocus offers one-year warranty on the Buddy notebook, and Snapdeal promises a swap warranty if the device has any hardware defect. There are plenty of other options for buyers in the budget laptop category. The most recent ones include Lenovo Ideapad at Rs. 14,990, Penta T-Pad at Rs. 10,999 and Micromax Canvas Lapbook L1160 for 10,499.
"We are excited to exclusively launch the power-packed InFocus Buddy Notebook, strengthening our rich assortment of close to 1,000 products in the laptop category," Tony Navin, senior vice-president of partnerships and strategic initiatives at Snapdeal, said in the statement.
