Indrajith Sukumaran and Rima Kallingal's upcoming Malayalam movie "Kaadu Pookkunna Neram" gets a clean 'U' certificate from the regional censor board on Tuesday, June 28. The filmmaker Dr. Biju, who was expecting few cuts by the board, announced the news via his Facebook page on Tuesday.
"Kaadu Pookkunna Neram" (which means "when the woods bloom") finished the censorship procedure today. Dr. Biju said the makers of the film were anxious as the movie talks about a sensitive political subject and were apprehensive if the sensor board would suggest a few cuts.
In that case, he said, the makers were planning to approach the court. However, Dr. Biju said he was surprised when the board members said: "We are giving a clean certificate for the film as it is a clear political cinema. You have clearly narrated it and we didn't feel like cutting any part of it." "Clean U certificate!" Dr. Biju wrote on his Facebook page.
"Kaadu Pookkunna Neram," shot mainly in the Western Ghats, also has Indrans, Irshad and Prakash Bare in significant roles. It is the production venture of Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters, which has previously bankrolled the multi-starrer "Bangalore Days." MJ Radhakrishnan handles the cinematography of the film, for which Karthik Jogesh does the editing. The sound designing and sound mixing are done by Jayadevan Chakkadath and Pramod Thomas, respectively.
Meanwhile, the upcoming movie is the directorial venture of Dr. Biju who has many accolades for his previous movies "Veettilekkulla Vazhi," "Akasathinte Niram," "Perariyathavar" and "Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal." He has won three National Film Awards and "Kaadu Pookkunna Neram" is also expected to won the hearts of the audience.
