Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) rolled out the special edition of its popular bike R25 in Indonesia with a price tag of 53 million Rupiah (approximately ₹2.70 lakh) same as R25.
The company will be selling only 100 units.
The R25 Special edition gets power from the same 250 cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine, which can churn out a power of 36 bhp, 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm, reported Otonity via IndianAutos blog.
As for styling, the changes in the new R25 model is limited to visual modifications and comes fitted with racing exhaust.
Yamaha YZF-R25, which made its debut last year has been earning tremendous responses from bike enthusiasts for its styling and performance.
In terms of dimensions, Yamaha R25 measures 2,090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1,135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780 mm. The model features fuel consumption indicator, oil change indicator, trip and odo-meter and engine temperature warning.
Although the R25 was rumoured to enter the Indian market with a single cylinder 250 cc motor in order to make the bike affordable, recent reports suggest that the company is likely to bring a new model and not R25.
If the bike R25 comes to India, it will be brought as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and the model will rival Hyosung GT250R, Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R.
