Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos have announced their newest acquisition with just days to go for the start of the second season of the ISL. Brazilian attacking midfielder Vinicius Ferreira de Souza further bolsters the attacking line of the Delhi outfit.
Vinicius joins the likes of Serginho Greene, Hans Mulder, Gustavo, and Florent Malouda as the other foreign players in the midfield.
Known for being an excellent footvolley player, the 26-year-old -- who has plied his trade with Brazil outfit Ponte Preta -- is revered for his pace, work-rate, stamina, and a strong left foot. Vinicius' style of play has also earned him comparisons with Netherlands' winger Arjen Robben.
The attacking midfielder has explained that playing alongside Brazil legend Roberto Carlos -- the player-cum-manager of Delhi Dynamos -- is one of the reasons why he has taken the challenge of playing in the ISL.
"I am excited and motivated to join Delhi Dynamos. I think it's a great opportunity and a new challenge for me to play in a completely new environment," Vinicius said in a statement. "Playing alongside Carlos will be an enriching experience and I look forward to play to the best of my ability."
Roberto Carlos has hailed his younger compatriot as talented and suggested that the midfielder's unique style of play is "something to watch out for".
"Vinicius is a great addition to the team. He is exceptionally talented and his unique style of play is something to watch out for this season," Carlos said.
"Being an outstanding footvolley player, he brings with him speed, agility and accuracy, which are required in the game of football," the left-back added.
Delhi Dynamos open their campaign in the season 2 of the ISL against FC Goa on 4 October, at Fatorda.
