Brazilian defender Bruno Perone has become the latest signing of Indian Super League outfit Kerala Blasters FC, this summer.
The 28-year-old former QPR centre-back becomes the first overseas defender to hog the limelight in the defending line of the ISL 2014 finalists. The other three foreigners in the Blasters roster include midfielders Victor 'Pulga' Herrero (Spain) and Joao Coimbra (Portugal) and forward Chris Dagnall (England).
Former Arsenal forward Sanchez Watt has also reportedly joined the ISL franchisee, but an official confirmation hasn't arrived yet.
Same is the case with Valencia legend Carlos Marchena, who was reported by Marca to have been signed as the marquee player by Kerala Blasters, ahead of the Indian Super League 2.0.
Blasters broke the news of Perone's signing through its twitter feed.
The 28-year-old plied trade with Brazilian outfits Corinthians Paranaense as well as Figueirense before moving on to QPR to make his Premier League debut in 2011.
The Sachin Tendulkar co-owned side have a handful of Indian defenders at their disposal, which includes the likes of Nirmal Chhetri, Gurwinder Singh, Saumik Dey, as well as star defender Sandesh Jhingan.
It was only last week that the ISL franchisee came out with a statement apologising to fans for their social media blackout for close to two weeks.
"Over the last 14 days, we have fallen short on our commitments and we are extremely sorry for the pain and frustration our silence has caused to you," the statement said.
"We promise that we will not let you down. Within this month, you can expect all the announcements from our end."
