Indian Super League outfit Delhi Dynamos head to Denmark for the remainder of the preseason tour following the completion of their tour of Sweden.
The Delhi outfit drew curtains on the tour of Sweden with a win in their last game at the Vavarevallen in Skene. The Roberto Carlos-led side got past Skene -- a local club who participates in Division 3 of the Swedish football league system -- with a 3-2 scoreline, riding on a brace from West Brom forward Adil Nabi and former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda.
Nabi, on loan at Delhi Dynamos, also got on the scoresheet for the ISL side as the visitors were handed a 7-2 defeat by Swedish top flight side BK Hacken at the Bravida Arena in Gothenburg on Thursday.
Delhi lost their first two preseason friendlies in the Sweden tour this summer. Prior to the defeat against Hacken, the Dynamos lost 3-1 against Varberg BoIS FC at the Påskbergsvallen football stadium, in the first of their preseason games in Sweden earlier this month.
However, the latest win against Skene has given Carlos' side the much-needed confidence ahead of their preseason friendly against FC Vestsjælland on Wednesday, 16 September, in Denmark.
"The experience in Sweden was fantastic with quality infrastructure and opponent. We are expecting the same from Denmark as Sweden and Denmark are one of the best European football nations – infrastructure and game wise," Delhi Dynamos president Prashant Agarwal said in a statement.
"We will play against FCV also called FC Vikings and it will not be an easy game. It was very strategic of us to play difficult games before we go back to India so as to estimate what we can expect from our opponents back at home and improve ourselves accordingly.
"It adds practice to the squad and becomes a great learning experience for us. Denmark will be our last stop and then we will come back to you, India!" Agarwal added.
Brazil legend Carlos mentioned that preseason is the perfect opportunity for the players to gel up with each other. "I'm very happy with their commitment," Carlos stated. "As I always say, preseason is the perfect timing to get in shape and along with your teammates".
