After taking a break of five years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back with a bang. The former Miss World is making her comeback with the film "Jazbaa", but that is not the only thing to look forward to.
Aishwarya Rai is all set to perform at the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament on 3 October. Aishwarya Rai will perform to her hit songs, including Crazy Kiya Re from "Dhoom 2" and Dola Re Dola from "Devdas" among others.
And her opening ceremony act will be choreographed by none other Bollywood's ace choreographer Shiamak Davar.
"Jazbaa" director Sanjay Gupta confirmed the news and said that it will be a gala event.
"It's going to be a gala event with glittering performances by many celebrities, but Ash is doing the grand finale. She will be seen to a medley of her songs from various hit films — including Crazy Kiya Re from Dhoom 2, Dola Refrom Devdas and a song from Robot. Shiamak Davar is choreographing her act. The Aaj Raat Ka Scene Banaa Le from Jazbaa has also been incorporated," Gupta told DNA.
Aishwarya Rai's husband and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is the co-owner of Chennaiyin FC team along with Vita Dani and cricketer MS Dhoni. The first match of the league is between Chennaiyin FC and Atlético de Kolkata and it will be held at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
So when Aishwarya Rai was approached to perform at the opening ceremony she agreed to do it as she will be there to support her hubby Abhishek.
Meanwhile, music director AR Rahman and "Shaandaar" actress Alia Bhatt will also perform at the opening ceremony.
"AR Rahman, too, will be performing for the ceremony with his choir. An official announcement regarding the list of performers will be released in a few days," The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
