American motorcycle manufacturer Indian Motorcycle has expanded its product portfolio in India with the new Springfield cruiser. The new Springfield cruiser has been priced at Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram).
The Springfield, which got its name from the birthplace of Indian Motorcycle, showcases classic design of the cruiser motorcycle with all the modern technology. It comes powered by a Thunder Stroke 1,811cc V-twin engine that can churn out 139Nm of peak torque at 2,600rpm.
"The Indian Springfield is one of the best bikes in our product portfolio as it offers the best mix of touring comfort and urban versatility through its blend of classic styling and comprehensive modern technology," EPPL and Polaris India CEO & Director Pankaj Dubey said in a statement.
Built on a new chassis, Springfield measures 2583mm in length, 990m in width, 1442mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 1701mm. It offers 142mm of ground clearance and features tank mounted electronic speedometer with odometer, dual trip-meters, digital tachometer and ambient air temperature. The cruiser also features rear buckhorn bar and adjustable passenger floorboards and the safety is taken care of by ABS, tire pressure monitoring and tank mounted electronic fuel gauge with low fuel led indicator. Other features include cruise control, keyless start, quick-release windshield and gear position display.
Indian Motorcycle, which currently has five dealerships in India, will add two more showrooms in Jaipur and Cochin in the coming months. The company is also expected to add a new bike -- the Chieftain Dark Horse -- to its product line-up in India soon.
